Guidelines for Submitting Dressage Test Videos
  1. Arena Setup:

    • Use an arena as close to regulation size as possible.

    • Letters must be visible.

    • Cones with large, visible letters and poles on the ground to mark corners are acceptable.

  2. Video Requirements:

    • Videos must be unedited from start to finish.

    • Record in one continuous take, ensuring the horse and rider are visible at all times.

    • Videos must be filmed in landscape orientation.

  3. Before Starting the Test:

    • Display a sign with the following information:

      • Date of filming

      • Rider’s name

      • Class number and test

    • The sign must be clear and easy to read.

    • The videographer can hold the sign before stepping behind the camera or position it in front of the camera at arm’s length before recording the ride.

  4. Filming the Test:

    • Keep the horse in frame at all times, ensuring the video is in focus.

    • Include visible test elements and letters in the frame.

    • Film from C, where the judge would typically sit.

    • You may stop recording once the horse and rider have left the arena at A.

  5. Additional Rules:

    • Tests may be called.

    • Coaching during the test is not allowed.

    • The video must include natural background sound; silent videos will not be accepted.

  6. Restrictions on Video Use:

    • Each test video can only be submitted to one online show.

    • Videos previously judged in another competition will be disqualified.

    • Any video suspected of being filmed during another competition will not be scored.
